When did tradition of "priests MUST NOT marry": start in Hindu sects?

The first religions to firmly lay down the rule , that the priest MUST NOT marry were Jainism / Buddhism. .Later many Christian sects particularly Catholics also adopted this as a rule.
.
Many Hindu sects have this rule that "priests cant marry". eg Shankracharyas cant marry , Swaminarayan preists cant marry and so forth. Amd many temple priests do marry.
.
So when exactly did Hindu temples priests and Hindi non-temple priests adopted this rule of not marrying?
.
The rishies in most scriptures are married. Many are unmarried, but by choice not due to any "rule".
.
Anyone has information on , around which century, did Hindu sects start adopting rule that "temple priest or non-temple priest must not marry"?
.
From information I got, almost all hindu temple priest as well non-temple priests used to marry till 300 AD. The Buddhists preists would not marry, but Hindu priests would.
.
Only around 300 AD some Hindu sects started INFORMAL rule that priests cant marry.
.
And in around 800 AD, SHANKRACHARYA made it a RULE for his followers, that prists of his following cant marry/. and later, many many sects adopted this as a firm and formal rule.
.
So as per my information, the "priest should not marry" started as
.
1. rule in Buddhism and Jainism in around 600 BC
.
2. Christians adopted it around 200 AD (early Christian priests were married.) 
.
3. Hindus started adopting it around 300 AD and it became a firm rule in many sects around 800 AD. 
.

Can anyone give more information?

Was "priest must not marry" a rule before 300 AD in any Hindu sect except Buddhism ?

When did this became rule in sects?

Last year also, the questions were all fixed and answers were pre-scripted.
.
Last year , I had made suggestions that PMO should upload a TRAILER i.e. upload PORTIONS of the fixed questions and scripted answers before the show so that people can see them before show starts. Just like many movies upload a TRAILER
.
Whatever I wrote last year i.e. 5-sep-2014 applies this year as well

1. NaMo's question-answer with kids was all fixed !! The kids were only parroting what the teachers told them, and teachers were given questions by senior officials via SZI . IOW, whole interaction was fixed, just as all interviews of SoMoKe, RaGa etc are all fixed. 
.
2. NaMo had ordered SZI to order schools to listen to NaMo's speech and later NaMo's QA with kids. Many schools end before 2pm, and those schools were ordered by SZI to keep students till session ends. And schools were told that outside officials will visit them to supervise the attendance !!
.
3. All this was an act of self promotion. If one uses his own money and his own appeal for self promotion, it is fine. But NaMo has used Govt money, Govt power and students' time for his self promotion !! And he got away with it !!

How Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan used information on Rashtrapita Subhashchandra Bose to blackmail Jawaharlal Ghazi and extract benefits from Jawaharlal Ghazi .

Radhakrishnan was Indian Ambassador to USSR in 1949-1952. There , he came to know that Rashtrapita Ahimsamurti Mahatma Subhashchandra Bose was alive and was in Stalin;s custody. (some say that Stalin was torturing him because Britsh wanted Stalin to torture him ; while some say that Rashtrapita Bose was in comfortable prison).

So Radhakrishnan told the them PM Jawaharlal Ghazi that "give me a good apex political position in India , or else I will leak the information that Netaji Subhashchandra Bose is alive."..
.
So Jawaharlal Ghazi made Radhakrishnan Vice President of India in 1953 and later Jawaharlal Ghazi made Radhakrishnan President of India in 1956 .
.
IOW, Radhakrishnan used this secret to blackmail Jawaharlal Ghazi and advance his political career.

We celebrate sep-5 as Teacher's Day . sep-5 is Radhakrishnan's birthday.

Moral of the story is --- its time we STOP celebrating birthday of Radhakrishan.

It is shame that we are celebrating his birthday as national day

And bigger shame that GoI / PM issued Rs 10 coin in his honor.

Whatever we say about British and Americans, they do take a very good care of the Indians who were faithful to them. Gandhi became rashtrapita, Jawher Ghazi became PM, Radhakrishnanh become VP and then President, and his birthday replaced Guru Purnima and so forth.
