In India, medical recruitee for MBBS are selected from 12th class passouts on basis of marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology. And Maths, Logic questions are NOT asked. So 12th class level PCB scores decide.
.
In USA, medical college rectuitee are selected NOT from 12th passouts but from college passouts. The major must be physics, chemistry, biology or one of the several listed subjects related to medicine. The exam has questions from COLLEGE LEVEL Physics, Chemistry, Biology, MATHS and LOGIC !!!
.
So one medical degree in USA takes 3 years of college + 5 years of med school = 8 years, and sometimes 9 years because of time spent in entrance exam preparation etc.
.
In India, MBBS is 4 years to 5 years.
./
But given that US doctors have better mathematical / logic skills, they ON AN AVERAGE , perform better than doctors in India.
.
The recruitement in Indian medical school involved maths (and thus logic) till some year 2000 (?). Around tear 2000 or may be later, "experts" decided that doctors dont need maths !!! And so 10th class level maths was considered as sufficient !! And so in 12th class, the medical recruits were expected to study only PCM !!! How can one study 12th level physics without studying 12th level maths ? IOW, removing maths from med school entrance tests and entrance critera was a nonsense,.
,
So quality of doctors before year 2000 was good, or rather excellent and was at par with US doctors. But due to removal of maths as subject, now level of medicos in India is fallg.
.
We at Right to Recall Group have proposed US-style 8 year medicine program i.e. medical school entrance students should have first finished yhree year degree in PCB or major related to medicine, And then the medical entrance tests should have subjects lPCMB and logic questions.
.
SoMoKe \ CoBhApSwaRa insist that medical education can be improved by neta-puja, sangathan-puja, slogan shouting and more and more FDI !!!
.
You decide which approach you want to take
