Friends and non-Friends,
Pls note carefully and very carefully.
Effective oct-28-2013 (*), word "Thanks" will be removed from English Dictionary and Usage and replaced by "Liked" and "1000 thanks" will be replaced "SuperLiked".
The decision was announced by the Dept of English, Cambridge University, who as per British Laws, is the official Custodian of English Language. In the recommendation they issued, which becomes law when The Queen signs it, says that starting 2013, the Official English Dictionary will list "Thanks" as an outdated word. And the usage will show "Liked" instead of "Thanks" and "SuperLiked" instead of "1000 thanks". For 2 years, both "Thanks" and "Liked" will be allowed to allow the transition. After that, those who say "Thanks" in public will be fined, and repeated offenders will be imprisoned. The Parliament will decide the fine amount and length of prison sentence within 3 months, and pass the necessary laws.
So when you have to say "Thanks", you better say "Liked". And when you want to say "1000 thanks", you better say "SuperLiked". And "Thanks in advance" will be replaced by "Liked before Posted" and acronym "TIA" will become "LBP".
Call it effect of Facebook's "Like" link or whatever. But word "Thanks" is now gone for good.
Liking you,
-Rahul Mehta
