Multi-elections --- as many nodal positions as possible should have elected heads. And Multi-elections can work ONLY if there is RTR and JurySys !!!
.
A "new" term I am putting to describe a difference between US-polity and polities of India, UK etc is MULTI-ELECTIONS.
.
In India, elections are confined to Corporators / Panchayat , MLA and MP. Everyuone else such as Mayor , CM , PM are indirectly elected and almost all else such as judges etc are appointed.
.
In UK too , except MPs , Corporators and education boar members, everyone is appointed or indirectly elected.
.
Lets compare to US
.
In USA following posts are DIRECTLY elected by voters
.
In Feberal Govt
.
F1. President (aka PM)
.
F2.Vice President (aka Deputy PM)
.
F3, Senators (Rajsabha Members)
.
F4. representatives (Loksabha members).
.
====
.
In state Govt
.
S1. Governor
.
S2. Deputy Governor
.
S3.. State Representattives (MLAs)
.
S4. State Senators (Members of Legislative Council)
.
S5. Several Ministers (eg Agriculture Minister in kansas is directly elected by voters)
.
S6. In some states, State High Court judges are elected eg Texas
.
S7. Judicial retention elections i.e. appointed individuals like state judges are subjected to referendum for their continuation
.
S8. state public prosecutors .
.
====
.
At district level.
.
D1 . Councilors (aka Corporators)
.
D2 . Mayor
.
D3. District Education officer
.
D4. District Police Chief aka Sherrif
.
D5. District Public Prosecutor
.
D6 Distritc judges
.
========
.
So I have coined term "Multi-elections" to denote this feature --- a system where several apex heads of district / state / federal units are DIRECTLY elected by voters
.
======
.
Why Multi-elections cannot work without RTR and JurySys ?
.
I will reply some other time.
