Many say that if polls were conducted in jun-2014 , then BJP would have won. WRONG !! BJP would have lost even then, though not so badly. But BJP wanted to gain CM-ship and so took unprincipled stand of delaying election, and so now lost badly !!!

Lets compare votes in assembly-dec-2013 and LS-may-2014 .

The votes of AAP had increased from 29% to 32% !! But they lost all seven LS seats because votes of BJP increased even more --- from 33% to 46%. . But that was because people hated Congress and wanted NaMo as PM.

Even if Delhi assembly elections were to be held in aug-2014 , NaMo was not going to become CM. So NaMo factor would have played no role, and BJP would have been back to 33%. And these voters werent going to go back to Congress. Some would have gone to BJP and rest to AAP. So AAP would have won with 40-42 seats.

Then why didnt BJP conduct polls in aug-2014? Because BJP thought that in few months, they can convince a large number of Delhi voters to vote for BJP and get Delhi CM chair !!!

So hope to get Delhi CM position created delay. And so not only BJP lost CM chair, but suffered a worse defeat.
