Come Christmas, and 100s of crores of rupees will be spent on lightening and electricity is wasted. No activist complaints that millions of Indians will have to live without electricity as load shedding is done in rural areas to meet demands of Christmas lights in cities. Come Id, and no activists complaints about cruelty imposed on poor goats and environmental damage caused by meat eating. Come D...iwali, and same activists like Anna cry loud against firecrackers in the name of poverty and environment. And they throw loads of lies. They give false information on costs -- the final price of crackers is high due high retail margin, the production cost is dirt cheap. Next they claim global warming. Pls count the air flights activists take, and the petrol they burn and damage they cause to ozone is order of magnitude more than firecrackers. Shame to those who oppose firecrackers and do not oppose Christmas lights and goat slaughters.

I fired crackers in ALL Diwalies, including when I was in US (where it was illegal to fire crackers without local permissions). In India, I have always given crackers to poor kids standing near by and they have LOVED it more than they would love sweets. Pls fire crackers in Diwali (ban unsafe ones like rockets, hawai, sutali bomb etc) and celebrate Diwali in traditional way. Thanx
