London water consumption = 200 liter per person per day (pls google "london water daily usage")

Ahmedabad water consumption = 150 liter per person per day provided by Municipality and if you include private bores, it would be well above 200 liter per person per day.

So water consumption is almost same. But London has 24 hr water supply in almost all parts. Where as Ahmedabad , except those who have private bore, gets water mere 1-2 hours a day.

WHY?

Simple. No water meters !!!

Ahmedabad doesnt have water meters !!! Whereas London installed water meters in almost all connections by 1930s !!! Same for several cities across globe such as NY, Singapore etc.

In absence of water meters, some may not close their taps. And even if 5% of population doesnt close taps, then remaining 95% will suffer acute shortage.

And solution is --- citizens should ORDER MLAs / Corporators via SMS to install water meters. And if they dont, citizens using Right to Recall Corporator , RTR Mayor , RTR MLA and RTR CM replace them. And for that, voters should also order MLAs / Corporators to print these Right to Recall law-drafts.

Solution is NOT to elected some Kalki type leader , or new Mahatama Gandhi. Activists should TRAIN voters to send orders to MP \ MLA \ Corporators etc via SMS to print law-drafts needed, and activists should also publicize these law-drafts.
