The female/male ratio in India has been declining ONLY due to lack of social security system in India and harsh life elders have to face in India (be traffic or anything). But the problem increased to such as extent that "market reality" of demand and supply gap itself started reducing the problem. Due to shortage of girls, dowry reduced and reverse dowry also started in many communities of society. Plus, economic situation of middle class improved and couples these days worry more about care more than money at their old age. And rightly or wrongly they hope that a girl will spare more time for them when they are old and in need of time and care. And so female/male ratio started improving very slowly on its own since 2003.

Now 10s of leaders, 80G-activists and professional actors masquerading as activist have come to claim credit for this change. They all have started "beti bhachao" movement. I wonder where these leaders, 80G-activists and professional actors were 10-20 years ago when problem was growing. Didn't they know about the problem back then? Well, surely they all knew about the problem. Then what forced them to keep silence for so many years? Well, if they had talked about the problem in 1990s, then they would not have been able to claim "see, my effort is changing the situation". Now also, the drama of leaders, activists and actors is making ZERO difference. The difference is only coming because dowry has decreased and even reverse dowry has started. But at least now these leaders, 80G-activists and professional actors can claim that "see, MY efforts are making difference". Its all about timing after all. A true-activists talks about problem moment the problem comes. Where as these "professional" leaders, professional 80G-activists and professional actors talk about problem only when there is opportunity to claim that they have solved the problem. Anyway, the problem is far far from away solution. Sex ratio at birth is still below 950. All these 2 bit leaders, grant hungry activists and professional actors do nothing but make token schemes, gather grants and make emotional drama. These leaders, 80G-activists and professional actors cant go beyond that. What can be done to reduce the problem?
