Family plans SMS route to unravel 'mystery'

Netaji's grand-niece wants Narendra Modi govt to immediately declassify secret files
.
Cuttack, Jan. 16: The family of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will shortly launch a nationwide SMS campaign to press for immediate declassification of Netaji's secret files that will throw light on the mysteries that shroud his disappearance. The SMS campaign will intensify the ongoing movement by the leader's family to unravel mystery behind his death, said Jayanti Rakshit, the grand-niece of Netaji.
.
Daughter of Sarat Chandra Bose, Jayanti, while launching a nationwide Netaji Subhas Bose 'Chetna Yatra' from Cuttack, said the family would soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand for declassification of the secret files as the previous UPA government had always overlooked their request.
.
"We will shortly launch an SMS campaign fromJanuary 23as Netaji's family and the people of the country do not believe in the plane crash theory. We are working on the campaign to garner public support," said Jayanti.
.
When Netaji disappeared in 1945, the entire world was in a state of turmoil. It was during that period that Netaji had joined the Axis power but unfortunately Japan had surrendered. Subsequently, Netaji had gone to South Asia where his Azad Hind Fauj had fought a fierce battle, which was admitted by a British historian recently, said Jayanti. There are more than 77 top secret files with the Union and the state governments that need to be declassified to unravel the mysteries behind his disappearance.
.
Netaji's family members said the previous government didn't take any step to declassify the documents on the pretext that it would affect the relation with the neighbouring countries. "Government has always taken plea that the declassification would hamper bilateral ties with other countries. But times have changed. We do not think that it will impact political relations," Jayanti said. Close associates of Netaji's family feel the plane crash story is unbelievable and are in dark over what happened to him.
.
The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Chetna Yatra, which kicked off today from the birthplace museum of Netaji here at Odia Bazar in Cuttack, will cover various other states. The yatra also called Janmasthan (birthplace) to Yudhsthan (war place) will end at Imphal after covering Calcutta, Chennai and other parts of the country. The programme organised by Utkal Vikash Yuva Parishad covered various prominent places in Cuttack today.
