some 35% of mall space in Ahmedabad is vacant !!!.

How lack of wealth tax and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's policy of imposing zero tax on closed flats / shops create INEFFICIENT economy ---

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation puts 7 times more tax on commercial property than on residential.. And to make matter worse, rented commercial space pay twice. And to make matter much worse --- unused land and unused commercial property is taxed at near zero rates !!!
.
So while commercial rents are skyhigh , over 33% mall space is vacant in ahmedabad. And same way, some 20% commercial shops etc are vacant and some 20% flats are vacant. To that, add the fact that so many plots within Municipal Limit are vacant that some lakhs of flats and offices can be made.

Solution I propose is to impose 1% wealth tax , minus income tax paid minus 15% of salaries paid. This will force all vacant plot holder and vcant shop / flat owners to start leasing renting their plots / flats / shops etc. This will lower the rents and increase businesses, increase income, increase income tax and also reduce unemployment.

Such law-drafts will bring REAL change and are far far better than scam ridden schemes like gold monetization scheme, which is nothing but scheme to loot away temple gold.
