Will gohatya of old cow / bullocks reduce productivity young cows / bullocks? I think so. And here is why.

Here is a thought experiment.
.
Imagine a community of say 10000 persons. There are of all age group. .
.
But people in that community see a strange unexplained phenomenon --- that everyone who reaches age of 50 years suddenly disappears !! They never saw anyone above 50 years getting killled. But they did notice that everyone when he reaches age of 50 years suddenly disappears !!
.
In such case, almost every young person , even 20 years old, will feel threatened --- what will happen to me when I reach age of 50 years? IOW, all their lives , they will live in fear and the productivity will be low.
.
Instead, if each person sees every person around him live till old age, and see die a normal natural death, then there will only be natural fear of death, but not a fear that someone will make me disappear when I reach 50 years old.

IOW, lets say that a slave-owner decided to reduce costs by killing all slaves above 50 years who produced less than what it takes to keep them alive. Then immediate effect will be --- fear in all young slaves will also increase and their productivity will decrease.

Now lets apply this on cows / bullocks.
.
If cows / bullocks are completely dumb, then this wont apply. But thats not the case. Cows / bullocks are quite intelligent creatures..
.
So if old cows and bullocks are taken away, even silently under the veil of darkness, next day, the young cows and bullocks will notice that elder members have disappeaed. And this will increase fear in them and will reduce their productivity.

Now for better answers , one needs to compare cows / bullocks in areas where slaughter of old cows / bullocks is common with health of cows / bullocks where slaughter is not there. I do NOT suggest any experiment --- because I am against cow slaughter. But there are many countries where it is legal. So study of health of cows there can be made there, and compared with health of cows here.
