"Rajdeep Sardesai says he doesn't know who Rajiv Dixit is !!!!!"

An interactive session was held this friday with one of India's top journalists, Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai, which went around for one hour. He kept his views on media and politics and told how media run. He told that when the news of Virat-Anushka breakup aired there was also a news at the same time from Palghar district of Maharashtra, where malnutrition was blooming in youngsters, but the news channels would show Virat-Anushka breakup so as to have better trp. Another example he quoted was of Assam floods that no one gave coverage to it. He said that last weekend he met Lalit Modi and Lalit Modi is living a life of king in Dubai. Basically he told whatever audience wanted to hear lyk politicians are corrupted..this system is broken..and media do it for trp. He came to campus also to promote his book...The Election That Changed India...350 Rs..about 30-40 people bought it to get his autograph done in it and a selfie clicked. He said that PM Modi in 1990s needed media to promote himself on tv but after he became PM, it has become a one way conversation with politicians and media. He told that Mayawati is corrupted..she has many bungalows ...Salman khan is friend of his and a nice person.

At last when he was leaving for his flight, I caught up to him and requested him,"Sir i want to ask you a question." He smiled and put his hand on my shoulder and i asked,"Sir do you know who Rajiv Dixit was? He was not given any coverage by media." He put off his hand from my shoulder, his facial expressions were worth looking at...he was dumbstruck for a moment..and he denied knowing Rajiv Dixit. I told him that Rajiv Dixitjee exposed the reality of mncs by sharing platform with Baba Ramdev on Aastha channel and was murdered in 2010. He seemed to be confused and repeatedly asked me," Who Rajiv Dixit is?, i don't know him...and Baba Ramdev wants to take over mncs...i don't know about Rajiv Dixit." He ignored me and moved on.
