Mark Zuckerberg ---- the Rice Missionary on the internet , who will give free internet to some poor 60 crore Indians, and in return get opportunity to twist their political opinions !!! So who do we blame ?

Between 1700 AD to 1950 AD , many poor across India became Christian because Missionaries were giving them food, medicines, education etc. When I first read about it some 40 years back, I though other way. I thought "they became Christians, because Indian elitemen refused to give them food , medicine and education, and Missionaries agreed to give them food , medicine and education. " !! Whom do you blame now? The Missionary, the poor who converted or the elitemen who refused to give food etc?

And the story repeats --- replace word "rice" by "internet".

Some 15 crore Indians have high speed broadband and some 20 crore have slow speed net. The rest can only dream to be on internet. So what did 15 crore do to bring internet to remaining 110 crore? Some netizens like myself and my fellow recallist colleagues have been running from pillar to post to convince all to FORCE SoMoKe to print law-drafts like DDMRCAM , RTR-BSNL-CEO, so that poverty reduces, and BSNL makes internet so cheap that all afford.. And give free 1GB data to all, and free extra 1GB on selected govt websites. And print law-drafts like RTR-TRAI so that internet prices fall.

But all activists opposed these proposed law-drafts, Instead they came with an earth shaking proposal ---- that all time should spent on SoMoKe-andhbhakti, and SoMoKe will bring 100% net connectivity for all !!! IOW, they opposed law-drafts like RTR-BSNL-Chairman etc

And so we have people like Mark Zuckerberg say "I will give free internet to 110 crore poor Indians, with condition that they can see on fbdotcom and other websites owned by american MNC-owners !!".

So now , some 60 crore or more Indians will see fbdotcom , amazondotcom and nothing else. And so their political opinions will get shaped by fb. And surely , sooner or later, US MNC-owners will use this to exterminate Indian religions, and promote their own.

So whom do we blame now?

Moral of the story is --- if activists chose to refuse to support the law-drafts to reduce poverty and reduce costs, then poor will remain poor and goods will remain unaffordable even to middle. So some or other "rice missionary" will come, get their support, You can blame the "rice missionary" as well as poors who support that "rice missionary" , or "internet offering missionary" but such shouting is useless.

If you are serious about stopping rise of new "internet offering missionary" aka freebasicsdotcom, then pls oppose SoMoKe and please support law-drafts like DDMRCAM , RTR-BSNL-Chairman etc. Otherwise, just as SoMoKe have handed away social media aka political media market to US-companies, they will hand over whole whole India to US-companies in time to come.
