An interesting problem for Inform Tech folks , wrt UNICODE
.
This is the first time I am putting my hands on unicode and crypto hash coding. This is the problem I find
.
1. Make a zero byte file in Notepad.exe and save it as UNICODE. So notepad will make a two byte file. ( see zero_bytes.unicode.txt athttps://www.facebook.com/groups/righttorecallparty/10153292165828103/)
.
2. Since the file is saved as unicode , this "zero byte " file has two characters -- 255 , 254
.
3. I am using http://onlinemd5.com/ for md5 hash
.
4. The hash for file is F3B25701FE362EC84616A93A45CE9998
.
5. But hash for chr$(255) & char$(254) i.e. ÿþ is 5F2BEC6E4C735D79932D51AF0B1CF62D
.
Whay are hashes different? what am I missing?
