Please divide your friends into friend groups, and when you post a status make sure that your selecting right friend groups. If your all posts go to all friends, then many friends will simply "unfollow" you.

eg

when I see political posts from non-personal-friends , I follow them.
.
But when I see personal posts like "today I had good breakfast" from non-personal-friends , I simply unfollow them.
