There are say 10 crore Indian voters on FB, and on an average they each post say 1 status / comment / picture per day . So out of 10 crore status / comments / pictures per day , how many are dedicated to improve law-order , economy etc of India?

My take --- less than 2%
.
I looked at some 100 friends of mine chosen at random from 4500+ friends and looked at their first 3-4 status. So I looked at some 300-400 status and less than 10 were related to national problems.
.
IOW, of all LEISURE hours one has, even in that lesiure hours, over 98% goes for self publicity , entertainment etc and less than 2% goes for society.
.
And this is true for people of ALL countries, not just India.
.
The reason is rational. Yes, the reason is rational.
.
Entertainment and self publicity is short term gain and all of it goes to oneself. While in spending time on national causes, there is no short term gain, and long term gain, if any gets divided over millions and billions.
.
Thats reason why I never "blame" paidmediamen. The paidmediamen has to run their newspaper / TV-channels everyday and get money to pay salaries and all expenses. And viewers / readers, as clear from their own behavior on FB, want self publicity, self gratification and entertainment. To provide self gratification and entertainment , the paidmediamen have to spend huge amounts and they need to get money from someone. And then that someone will decide which political news will go and which political news wont go.

And that applies for ALL countries , not just India.
.
So activists who "blame" paidmediamen are only wasting their and others' time. Not only they are sounding like crybabies, are wasting time and only adding noise pollution, they are asking paidmediamen to be economically unviable. My request to all activists is to shun all activists who crib against paidmediamen.

Whatever paidmediamen do, their behavior is DIRECT reflection of what viewers / readers want and nothing more.

The solution is in problem itself !!!

Let me explain.

Lets say 10000 voters in India or anywhere are chosen at random. And they are given 10 hours of time and 1000 hours of video on national cuases, entertainment etc . Then out of 10000 * 10 = 1 lakh hours, only 2% i.e. say 200 hours will get spent for videos on national causes and rest 98% will go for entertainment.

So how is this problem itself a solution? !!
.
Because if each viewer is asked to decide which video others should watch, then he will give higher rating to videos of national causes and lesser to entertainment.
.
IOW, while most persons want to maximize their gains by spending more time on entertainment and less on national causes, they want to further maximize gains by trying to ensure that others spend higher time on national causes and lesser on entertainment !!

So when 10000 persons are asked to give marks to 100 videos , and told that videos with highest marks will be shown to OTHERS , each person will give higher marks to videos with causes and lesser marks to videos with only entertainment.

So when RTR-Doordarshan-Chairman procedure is put, each voter will higher rating to Chairman who puts causes over entertainment !!!

Now DD-Chairman will add some spice entertainment to get viewers. But if he puts too much entertainment, then he will lose voters.

So the problem + solution is that "most persons want to spend maximum of their time in watching videos on entertainment and want others to spend maximum time in watching videos on national causes !!!" And RTR-DD-Chairman ensures that voters will select Chairman who promotes videos on national causes, and thus information on national causes will start reaching maximal number of voters.
