Like it or not, but a big PART of credit of implementing OROP goes to paidmediamen .

First, as of now, I support OROP. BJP had given promise of OROP , and "we" as a whole voted for BJP. So there is no escape, As of now, none of us have moral right to oppose OROP.

The paidmediamen gave a HUGE coverage to OROP demonstrations and their threats to campaign against BJP-leaders in coming Bihar assembly elections. And that was ONE of the IMPORTANT FACTORS for early resolution of OROP.

I was not keeping track of OROP, nor do I have any opinion on it. There are 10s and 10s of issues across India --- it is not possible for me to follow all.

But now OROP demand will come from ALL govt employees, central police, railways, post, other central govt employees etc. and it will come from state police, and all state govt employees and finally OROP demand will come also from employees of Municipalities and Panchayats !!! And then bank and PSU employees may also demand OROP.

So now, it is MUST that we all make an opinion on OROP.

My stand is that OROP should be restricted to Military and BSF, and divisions similar to BSF (such as Asam Rifles etc). It should be not be applied on other govt departments. Not even policemen. Also, on NEW soldiers who join henceforth, OROP should be restricted.

i.e. all existing soldiers and ex-soldiers should get OROP as commited. But commitments can be changed for NEW coming soldiers and there is NOTHING immoral in it.

The problem with OROP is as follow --- can existing generation make commitments on behalf of coming unborn generation? My answer is --- NO. 
.
The existing generation should NOT be allowed to make commitments on behalf of next generations. Thats why I dont oppose private debt but debt taking by Govts. Because when a private person dies, his debt dies with him. Whereas when govt takes debt , the existing generation takes debt and after its death, the debt quietly passes on heads on next generation.

Now say a person joins a service at the age of say 25 years. And then he is given promise by govt = society that the employee will be given pension till he dies at the age of say 80 years (average death age of an employee). Then here, existing generation is giving commitment on behalf of next unborn generation. .

And IMO, this has to end.

Solution I propose is to create a "low" inflation regime. And inflation should be created ONLY to protect wealth from invaders, criminals etc and NOT for other purposes. So in case of war or threat or war, inflation will be high, but otherwise, inflation will be low.

If inflation is low, then savings will not deplete , and so 30% compulsory savings from salaries earned during working age will be sufficient to bear expenses in non-working age.

Another system we need is --- a person after 60 years should be given lesser paying jobs and lesser responsibility jobs in govt. There are a large number of jobs which require LESS physical strength and can be done by senior citizens. 
.
All in all, we need several means. But a blanket OPOR for all employees isnt possible and also immoral. So OROP for existng soldiers and ex-soldiers is now done --- IMO , we should NOT go back. But "no OROP for other govt employees" is my proposal.
