The 1965 Indonesian massacre --- In few months , Indonesian Military killed all the 3 lakh Indonesian Communist Members and over 2 lakh to 15 lakh supporters !!

How weapons play more important role than "majority\democracy" , and how "majority\democracy" is necessary to improve weapons !!

In oct-1965, Indonesian Army apex , backed by US-MNC-owners, ordered soldiers to kill members\supporters of PKI = Indonesian Communist Party, and within less than a month, over 5 lakhs to 20 lakhs were killed. It was about 0.25% to 1% population of whole country !!. The entire PKI = Indonesian Communist Party cadre with over 3 lakh card holding members got wiped out in less than one month. so guns prevailed over democracy. Or did it?

PKI = Indonesian Communist Party didnt get 51% votes, but did get as high as 30% and was second largest vote-getting party. Its official membership was some 30 lakh, about 3% of working population. (see wiki page on Indonesian Community Party).

PKI was opposed by landlords because it demanded land-reforms. And PKI was also opposed by clergy because PKI promoted atheism. Back then top brass of Indonesian consisted of sons of Indonesian elite, and so no wonder they also hated PKI.

Some leftist groups ALLEGEDLY killed several top Indonesian Army Generals and other officers of Indonesian Army. Indonesian Army-apex PKI-apex was rightly or wrongly blamed for it. And Indonesian Army apex used that as pretext to kill all the 3 lakh PKI members as well as lakhs of their supporters.

Moral of the story is --- without weapons, majority has no value.

But there is other side of stiry too. The Indonesian Military could carry out this massacre because it got weapons from USA !! If Indonesian Army was dependent on Indonesian people for weapons, then this massacre would not have happened. Because to manufacture weapons, citizens need a lot of engineering abilities and if citizens have such engineering abilities, then they will also figure out and implement ways to thwart back such large scale massacres.

All in all, PKI didnt lose to "Indonesian" Military --- it lost to USA. The Indonesian Military apex had become a puppet of USA. USA gave tons of weapons to Indonesian soldiers, and soldiers went ahead and killed all PKI members.

PKI lost because instead of building engineering and weapon making abilities in population, PKI assumed that adding members and voters. The could have added donkeys, dogs and cats. The numbers matter, but ONLY if number of people learn to make and possess weapons.

We recallists also have lessons to learn. The lesson is that --- it is possible for external power to provide tons of weapons to local leaders, and use local leaders to PHYSICALLY kill each and every, EACH AND EVERY activist that is harmful to US-interest. It happened in Indonesia in 1965. It can happen againt anywhere in world.
