Why Inca, Aztecs, Mayans and several other Latin American civilizations , COULD NOT discover wheel and couldnt make weapons?

Consider Inca , Maya and several civilizations in what we call as North America and South America continents.

Pls google on them

They had discovered use of "0". and had made several advances in astronomy. They had made tall buildings, cities had trade etc.
.
But none could make a wheel. Yes, they had made tall buildings, but had no wheels !! All goods were carried on animals or carried by humans.

They had not discovered iron.
.
And even in year 1500,. there weapons were worse than what Asians had in 1000 BC .
.
So why were they so physically behind, even though were mentally almost at par with people in Asia or Europe?
