Why didnt NaMo order Join Session for Land bill?
.
GST cant be passed using join session as GST involves an amendment in constitution. But land bill aka LAB could have been passed by Joint Session,
.
NaMo didnt call join session because many in BJP are opposed to LAB for whatever reason. So these MPs asked SS , Alkali etc to oppose LAB !! IOW, SS / Akali etc were threatening to oppose LAB in Joint Session , and their opposition was internally backed by many BJP MPs.
,
So yes, Congress MP's noise making did create confusion and delay. But all that could have been circumvented and taken over using Joint Session. But NaMo didnt call joint session becuase of BJP MP's inner oopposition only\
.
And why do many BJP MPs oppose LAB?
.
.
Many of BJP MPs, like Congress MPs, are land hoarders and want to sell land at very high premium to those who want to setup factories. LAB puts a ceiling of 4 times the CIRCLE RATE , which is just equal to market rate or even less.
